Mark’s been part of Giusti’s for 33 years. In his early days at Giusti’s, customers, they would say, “Oh, you’re Mark too.”  In order to eliminate confusion with Mark Morais, they gave him the moniker Mark too, which later evolved to Mark II Some now just call him “Deuce” or “Two”.  Mark is a local insurance executive by day, and by night and weekends, is the “senior” bartender at Giusti’s Place. He is the unofficial “CMO” (Chief Maintenance Officer) at Giusti’s and a great story teller as well.

Who would ever guess that Brad, friend to so many Giusti’s customers for 14 years, is the owner of a very successful computer consulting business. Not only does he listen well and pour a great drink, he can also tell you how to fix your hard drive when it crashes!

Aaron’s smile and quick wit has been a fixture behind the bar for 9 years and is a great fit for Giusti’s Place.  When Aaron’s not tending bar at Giusti’s, he’s a growing wine grapes in the Delta.

Clair

Having poured at Giusti’s for since 2005, Jim is considered the “new guy”. New to the trade he is not, however, with nearly a decade of Delta bartending experience. With a sense of flair and a sense of humor, Jim holds the ability to simultaneously tell jokes and mix cocktails. You’ll get drinks and a show when he’s on shift making him a welcome addition to Giusti’s.  While not entertaining Giusti’s guests, he pursues a full-time graduate degree in business at Sacramento State.

If you come to Giust’s Place on a Sunday night, most likely Rob is the man you will see behind the bar. He has been tending bar a Giusti’s for about two years. Like so many others who work at Giusti’s, he has a busy active life outside of Giusti’s, and likes to work there because it is a part of life in the Delta he values and enjoys. During the week, Rob and his mom Ofelia operate the local bottled water business, a business that has been in his family for over 20 years.

If there is a Bartender’s Hall of Fame in Heaven, Claire, long time Giusti’s bartender, is certainly a member.  His cheerful, caring and gentle mannerisms were always his trademark, whether tending bar at Giustis, driving the ‘big wheel” ag fertilizer spreader he operated for the Harvey Lyman Company, or telling anyone who would listen what a great place his hometown of Freeport was.  He was recognized anywhere he went in the Delta by his white cowboy hat, his dog Panda and his Chevy truck. If you knew Claire, then you will recognize his favorite saying, “You can’t complain about the service if there isn’t any,” - always spoken with his characteristic smile.

April

Chef Sammy has brought his gourmet mastery to Giusti’s down-home atmosphere for over 5 years.  His resume boasts numerous upscale Sacramento restaurants, including Paragary’s and The 4th Street Grill, but he loves pleasing Giusti’s patron’s.  Possessing a fiery passion for the culinary arts, the only thing Chef Sammy enjoys more than creating new and special dishes is hearing the diner gush with pleasure after tasting it.  It is with love that Sammy cooks for you.

Chef Rick has been cooking with his trademark “heart, soul and gusto” at Giusti’s going on 8 years.  Besides the culinary skills and experience he brings to Giusti’s Place, he is a loyal, reliable, good guy that can always be counted on for his special brand of customer service and the tender loving care he puts into the meals he cooks. Before coming to Giusti’s, Rick did stints at Albert’s, Shannon’s and Garlic Brothers.

April has been a member of Giusti’s staff for over 36 years! She began working there while still in high school, bussing tables alongside her mother Dorothy, a well known waitress at Giusti’s for many years. April is a local insurance agent during the week and keeps her weekend job at Giusti’s because she enjoys being there so much. So when you see April, you can ask her for the menu, the daily specials and even a quote on your insurance!

Kattie

Sonny has been a lunch and dinner waitress at Giusti’s Place for 19 years. Here personality is just like here name - sunny. Her smile brightens the dining room on even a gray and cloudy day, and brings smiles to her customers in a way this photo expresses better than words!

If you have spent time at Giusti’s, you know that “family” is a lasting value that has always been part of the Giusti’s staff and way of doing business.  Left to right, Elvira, Ashley, Shannon and Philomena are all family members. Elviara and Philomena are sisters who have began working at Giusti’s over 20 years ago. Ashley and Shannon are daughters. Although Philomena now lives in Mexico, she still looks just as much at home at Giusti’s as she did during all the years she worked there.

Katie grew up spending lots of time at Giusti’s as a customer, as it was her family’s favorite place to eat. During high school, she worked at Mel’s Mocha in Walnut Grove, greeting and serving customers during the morning shift. Now, Katie greets and serves many of these same customers at night a Giusti’s.  Katie is a college student studying radiology, and plans to specialize in ultrasound technology.

Customers know Jesse by her warm smile and friendly greetings. She is Martha’s daugther, and began working at Giusti’s bussing tables when she was in high school.

One of the least glamorous but most important jobs in the restaurant business is that of diswasher. Louredess brings her energy, and good cheer to that job make everybody around her in the kitchen feel better because of that.
